The attorneys at Hoover Hull Turner LLP have a long-standing commitment to pro bono service to clients who are otherwise unable to afford legal counsel. Our varied pro bono work includes legal advocacy on behalf of people in need through a variety of programs, including:
- Civil Trial Assistance Panel (CTAP) program the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, in which district judges request CTAP counsel to represent indigent litigants under certain circumstances;
- Mediation Assistance Program (MAP) program of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, in which volunteer attorneys represent pro se litigants for the limited purpose of advising them in connection with Court-sponsored mediations; and
- Tenant Assistance Project (TAP) program of the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, in which an attorney supervisor oversees the activities of law students who represent tenants facing eviction.
Our attorneys have also accepted pro bono engagements in family law matters, most typically in connection with local bar associations. We believe that pro bono service offers our lawyers and other professionals a special opportunity for personal and professional growth.
